AHE’s Recovery and Resilience Launching Tour is taking place now in Rusizi District, Rwanda! The first of a series of train-the-trainer workshops will be held May 7th-8th in Cyangugu, with the first group counseling for women beginning May 9th. We encourage social workers, counselors, teachers, pastors, and other community leaders and individuals who work with youth and families to sign up. This program is intended to build upon the knowledge and insight of the Rwandan mental health providers by giving them knowledge, skills, and practical tools that foster growth. The AHE method is one that incorporates a research-based curriculum and other trauma interventions to guide providers in leading supportive recovery groups for community members. To learn more, please contact AHE’s founder, Sara Stender, who is in Rwanda through May 16, and to ensure that this program is financially sustainable, please consider making a donation today.
